Bishops in Action

The Bishops in Action website is a free resource for all schools.  It has been put together by a group of RE Advisers based in the South East in order to raise awareness of the Lambeth Conference in July and August 2008 but will be of use beyond this to help with learning about and learning from the role of bishops.  We should like to thank all who have given us grants so this website can be free to all.  We encourage schools to use the website so that pupils and their teachers know something about a bishop in time for the once-in-ten years Lambeth Conference in Canterbury later in the summer.  Just click on "Bishops in Action" above.

The Diocesan Board of Education (DBE)

The Schools Department reports to the Board of Education, which meets each term.  The Chairman is the Rt Revd Richard Inwood, Bishop of Bedford.

Our Mission

The Board of Education of the Diocese of St Albans exists to provide support and advice to church schools throughout the Diocese.  The Diocesan Resource Centre holds resources for schools, youth work, children's work in churches and general parish use.  It hosts the full-time staff for schools work, youth work and children's work.  The Centre is open to all churches and to church schools, community schools and private schools.
